Here I Come!

Today I said goodbye to my colleagues and friends as they wished me good luck in my new assignment in another department. Though I work in planning but since I joined the company in 2002, I don't remember any of what was planned for me to happen! I was supposed to go on this assignment after the first few months but then it was delayed until I finish a year with them and then it was delayed another year and finally I am going to the assignment that was planned for me?? WRONG!! I am going to another department that no one expected me to go to, and as what? The plan for me to be like the supervisor there after few months and I hope this plan succeeds this time :D
So I cleaned my desk and my PC and transferred all the files I will need including my unfinished poems so I can continue working on them in my new work.
The worst things is that I will be home only in weekends and I will need a TV there! I can't miss the football matches and the show 24!!

So my new colleagues, roll out the red carpet! Here I come :D

Quotes About Life

Here are some nice quotes about life that I read today and I liked to share them with you. My favorite is the last one of course ;)

"True, we love life, not because we are used to living, but because we are used to loving. There is always some madness in love, but there is also always some reason in madness" --Friedrich Nietzsche

"You should always learn, with life comes wisdom and with wisdom comes the courage to live your life selflessly. The more you learn about yourself and the experiences surrounding your life the more opportunities you have to make your life better and more fulfilling" --Amy Candy

"Many of life's circumstances are created by three basic choices: the disciplines you choose to keep, the people you choose to be with; and, the laws you choose to obey" --Charles Millhuff

"I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time" --Jack London

"To have striven, to have made an effort, to have been true to certain ideals -- this alone is worth the struggle. We are here to add what we can to, not to get what we can from, life" --Sir William Osler

"If you cannot be a poet, be the poem" --David Carradine

Song Of The Week (7)

Here is one of my all time favorite songs from one of my all time favorite artists. I heard this song first time in early 90s long before I know the satellite dish and long before the Internet. The song is "Hazard" for "Richard Marx". He is one of the most talented musicians around but he chose not to be a commercial artist.

Hazard

My mother came to Hazard when I was just seven
Even then the folks in town said with prejudiced eyes
That boy's not right
Three years ago when I came to know Mary
First time that someone looked beyond the rumors and the lies
And saw the man inside

We used to walk down by the river
She loved to watch the sun go down
We used to walk along the river
And dream our way out of this town

No one understood what I felt for Mary
No one cared until the night she went out walking alone
And never came home
Man with a badge came knocking next morning
Here was I surrounded by a thousand fingers suddenly
Pointed right at me

I swear I left her by the river
I swear I left her safe and sound
I need to make it to the river
And leave this old Nebraska town

I think about my life gone by
How it's done me wrong
There's no escape for me this time
All of my rescues are gone, long gone

I swear I left her by the river
I swear I left her safe and sound
I need to make it to the river
And leave this old Nebraska town

Questions from a Weary Mind

Here is a poem I wrote using a new style for me. I didn't care much about the rhyming process and as you can see some lines rhyme and some don't. The poem talks about me being confused and lost at times.

Questions from a Weary Mind

I am just lost and wandering
And I do not know where to go
Wasted so much time just-
To find where I belong
I have been searching for so long
The drifter that I am
I will be damned
My ghosts and my demons
My unreasonable reasons
That change with seasons
My weary state of mind
My naked soul
There is no sense at all
Where do I stand?
Am I so close to the edge?
Holding my pen and paper
Describing the way I should fall
Or writing about the sky
And the clouds
Or maybe the river and the sea
A dream or a wild fantasy
Lost love and a broken heart
Or a blossoming love yet to start
Too many questions that-
My weary mind cannot answer

Song Of The Week (6)

I have listened to this song while I was doing my the training required to graduate from university and I fell in love with it since. The song is called "It Might Be You" performed by "Stephen Bishop". I think he was just a one hit artist. :P

Time
I've been passing time watching trains go by
All of my life
Lying on the sand, watching seabirds fly
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you
All of my life

Looking back as lovers go walking past
All of my life
Wondering how they met and what makes it last
If I found the place
Would I recognise the face
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah it's telling me it might be you

So many quiet walks to take
So many dreams to wake
And we've so much love to make
Oh, I think we've gonna need some time
Many be all we need is time

And it's telling me it might be you
All of my life

I've been saving love songs and lullabies
And there're so much more
No one's ever heard before
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah, it's telling me it must be you
And I'm feeling it'll just be you
All of my life

May be it's you (it's you)
May be it's you (it's you)
I've been waiting for all of my life

Alone With You

Well here is my latest poem. I have written romantic poems before but they were not anything like this.

It is called "Alone With You"

When I am alone with you,
You have to be careful from me
I can make you my hostage
Or I can set you free
So watch out from eyes
Cause they will entice you
And close your ears to my whispers
As you know what they can do
And be aware of my touch
As it will break all the fences
And stay away from my warm breath
It will surely shatter all your defenses
Don't get so close to me
Or you will feel my body's heat
And it will turn on your desire
And quicken every heartbeat
I will make you shiver
When I caress your cheeks with my fiery fingertips
And I will take your breath away
When I lock my lips on your lips
I will taste your sweet sweat
When I kiss you from head to toes
It will be just like the morning dew
That we see on every rose
The room lights are dim
But it is amazing how you shine
And when I hold you in my arms
I thank god that you are mine

Song Of The Week (5)

Finally it is Monday and it is the time for the easiest post of them all. The hardest thing in regard to this post is actually choosing the song :P
I first heard part of this song on Future TV in a weekly musical program but I was not able to get the band name that time but after a while I bought one of the mp3 cheap CDs and the band Best Songs album was included and they turned out to be good. The song is called "Don't Answer Me" for "Alan Parsons Project"

If you believe in the power of magic,
I can change your mind
And if you need to believe in someone,
Turn and look behind
When we were living in a dream world,
Clouds got in the way
We gave it up in a moment of madness
And threw it all away

Don't answer me, don't break the silence
Don't let me win
Don't answer me, stay on your island
Don't let me in

Run away and hide from everyone
Can you change the things we've said and done?

If you believe in the power of magic,
It's all a fantasy
So if you need to believe in someone,
Just pretend it's me
It ain't enough that we meet as strangers
I can't set you free
So will you turn your back forever on what you mean to me?

Don't answer me, don't break the silence
Don't let me win
Don't answer me, stay on your island
Don't let me in

Run away and hide from everyone
Can you change the things we've said and done

My Grave

This is a poem I wrote sometime ago. I called it "My Grave". Now you all know that I will talk in my grave after I die and write poems too :P

My Grave

Dance, dance upon my grave
Dance like a firefly around a newly lit fire
Dance to satisfy that burning desire

Sing, sing for my grave
Sing that heart-breaking love song
Sing with that voice I wanted to hear for so long

Talk, talk to my grave
Talk about the memories we shared together
Talk about the love that won't be replaced with another

Cry, cry on my grave
Cry and let your tears fall like a shower
Cry and your tears will plant a flower

Stand, stand beside my grave
Stand and for the last time say that you love me
Stand and take a last look at the man who used to be

Walk, walk away from my grave
Walk toward that wide open door to the world
Walk and leave me alone for good

Song Of The Week (4)

I listened to this song last night and I liked it. It is for "Andy Griggs", a country singer and the song is called "If Heaven". If you like it you can download it from kazaa or winmx but if you are lazy to download it, I will be happy to send it to you :)
But be warned this is a country song so if you don't like country then don't bother :P

If Heaven was an hour, it would be twilight
When the fireflies start their dancin' on the lawn
And supper's on the stove, and Mama's laughin'
And everybody's workin' day is done

If Heaven was a town it would be my town
Oh, on a summer day in 1985
And everything I wanted was out there waitin'
And everyone I love was still alive

Don't cry a tear for me now, baby
There comes a time we all must say goodbye
And if that's what Heaven's made of
You know I, I ain't afraid to die

If Heaven was a pie it would be cherry
So cool and sweet and heavy on the tongue
And just one bite would satisfy your hunger
And there'd always be enough for everyone

If Heaven was a train it sure would be a fast one
That could take this weary traveler around the bend
If Heaven was a tear it'd be my last one
And you'd be in my arms again

Dont cry a tear for me now, baby
There comes a time we all must say goodbye
And if that's what Heaven's made of
You know I, I ain't afraid to die

Yeah if that's what Heaven's made of
You know I, I aint afraid to die

Beauty of the Night

This week I have a course in Windows XP Implementation and so on and the PCs there are not connected to the Internet, so most of the time I am fighting sleeping or playing hearts or solitaire and I actually won in solitaire today, maybe for the first time in my life ever :P
So, I thought and I told myself why don't I write a poem instead of just sleeping or playing. I opened the notepad and wrote this romantic piece :P

It is called "Beauty of the Night"

The sublime beauty of the night
With the bright stars up in the sky
The soft beams of the moonlight
They dance for you and I

So we get lost in this silence
And melt ourselves with the night
We forget all our sadness
And start dancing with delight

Slowly we step on the ground
You hold my hand and take control
And you move me round and round
As you dance with my body, heart and soul

And we keep dancing under the starry sky
To the music that only us can hear
And we share the same sigh
Until the dawn draws near

I softly whisper in your ear
And tell you what you mean to me
Words of love you so long to hear
And how you made me the man I ought to be

Scenes From My Window

Here is a poem that I wrote long time ago and I was hoping that I can add one more scene to it but I ran out of any creative ideas!
I love my window and too bad that I can't see anything interesting when I stand in front of it and look. I am surrounded by walls! I miss those days where I used to be able to view the whole street from the window but then some neighbor moved in and his walls blocked my view!
Anyway, when I have my own home I will make sure that when I stand in front of the window I would see some green or blue and I don't mean the walls paints!

So here is the poem

Scenes From My Window

Scene 1:
All alone, I watch the world from my window
Counting birds that fly over the meadow
Listening to the sound of whistling trees
Telling stories of love carried by the breeze
Tales of so many broken hearts
Shattered into pieces and parts

Scene 2:
Still alone, as the raindrops knock on the window
Black clouds fill the sky above the meadow
The fiery winds were harsh on the naked trees
As they are howling begging for summer breeze
And the misery will continue for the aching hearts
As they wonder who will mend their broken parts

Scene 3:
Alone, looking at the world outside the window
The sunshine embracing the meadow
Kids are playing hide and seek behind the trees
The fresh scent of flowers filling the breeze
The pure air cures the wounded hearts
And helps out picking up the shattered parts
