Song Of The Week: Right to Remain Silent

I have been listening to this song for like 5 times daily now since I have known about it. It is performed by a not so famous country band called "Perfect Stranger" and basically I don't know anything about them!

Right to Remain Silent

Can I have this dance, my you're looking pretty
Is there something wrong, did he leave you hurting
I don't mean to pry, but that tear in your eye, gave you away
If you don't want to talk, we'll keep it quiet
But sometimes a heartache hurts worse if you hide it
I think there's a chance, one slow dance
Might ease the pain...

You have the right to remain silent
Anything that you say as I hold you against me
Will forever be a secret, between us two
I've been wanting you, but you didn't know it
And now that he's gone, at last I can show it
If your heart is tired, for the rest of your life
Lay your love on me

So many times my eyes have held you
Tonight please give my arms that chance
If you don't feel the need for conversation
We'll just let our hearts talk while we dance...

You have the right to remain silent
Anything that you say as I hold you against me
Will forever be a secret, between us two
I've been wanting you, but you didn't know it
And now that he's gone, at last I can show it
If your heart is tired, for the rest of your life
Lay your love on me

If your heart is tired, for the rest of your life
Lay your love on me

This song was a song my husband used to "sing" to me when we first met online 10 years ago. It STILL brings chills to me, this many years later. I simply love it :)

Dawn: Your husband is romantic. Just like me :P
But I never thought that the song is 10 or more years old and I just found out about it!

I just like the title of the song.

Because..There are some people who just want us to talk... Even if we have nothing to say. They don't realize that we have the 'right to remain silent'...

I just listened to it about 3 times. Nice. :)

Enigma:
Come on! The song is fine too :P
And you are right! And it is funny that people are fucusing on the right of speech where the right to remain silent is equally important :D

Salted-Caramel:
I think you will listen more to it ;)

Cal Sweat and Brenda Sweat wrote this song :P
And why do you miss feeling this way?? I always feel like the man who wants this girl to dance with him but they all prefer the hurt over the dance :P
Thanks for the comment :)

Salted-Caramel:
I read that and commented and it didn't encourage me to write in Arabic, sorry :$

hurt over the dance ya3ni shino? step on your feet? :P

Hopeless Poet said...

Spontana:
I meant they prefer to be hurt by a man rather than to dance!
